The ceramic baguettes
The ceramic baguettes are GIMA’s most recent group of products. They involve ‘threading up’ the individual ceramic elements, then mounting them in front of the facade with rear ventilation. This creates an exciting mix of class ceramic material combined with a new kind of facade construction.
The unique interaction of colors of these ceramic baguettes is achieved using a specialist carbon-salt firing process. This firing process has become very rare. It assures great resistance to all environmental factors and this ensures that the facade is extremely long-lasting.
Typically, the baguettes are available with a square, rectangular, oval or triangular cross section. Special elements in other shapes, for example corrugated or grooved, are developed in close collaboration with the planner. The individual elements that go together to form a baguette can reach lengths of up to 600 mm. The total length of baguettes always depends on the structural conditions of the relevant project. In addition, the format is also influenced by the intended use. Baguettes can be used as sunscreen elements, to form enclosed areas, in conjunction with classic brick facades or as elements for the redirection of daylight.
