With the extension to the vocational school in Regensburg, bez+kock architekten are building a bridge between the existing building and the present. The new building picks up on the facade language of the school building from the 1980s and translates it into a sculpturally formulated, contemporary shell. The relief-like clinker brick facade is a defining feature, its geometry created from a specially developed, pentagonal special format from GIMA.

Diversity conceived as a spatial principle: the “schmale Hans” combines color and material. The blue-green glazed clinker bricks from GIMA give the building a clear, contemporary architectural attitude. In Mannheim’s Spinelli Wohnen.Park.Quartier, a new urban development on the site of the former Spinelli Barracks, the Viennese architecture firm AllesWirdGut has designed an ensemble of distinctive individual houses that not only allows for diversity, but also makes it visible.

The Euromodul clinker brick from GIMA stands for clear surfaces, reduced joint patterns and a striking material effect. Thanks to its large-format grid, it creates facades with a calm, powerful presence and can also be individually adapted in terms of color, surface and format. Robust, sustainable and maintenance-free, it combines the traditional quality of brick with a contemporary architectural language.

The new SURFACE tile panels from GIMA combine the high functionality of a ventilated rainscreen cladding with the aesthetics of a shingle cladding and the potential to be separated and returned to the cycle. These brick panels meet all the requirements for a high-performance and sustainable building envelope that can always be developed on a project-specific basis and in a variety of designs.

This year, we are exhibiting for the first time at the Klimafestival organised by Heinze and BauNetz. At Station Berlin, you can see our clay bricks, clay brick slips and various types of recycled clinker bricks for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you on 19 and 20 November 2025. If you still need tickets, simply contact us via our contact form or by email at info@gima-ziegel.de.

In Munich’s Allach district, a new urban quarter for around 1,500 residents has been built on the site of the former Diamalt factory. The existing listed buildings were integrated into the planning and now form the identity-defining centre of the quarter. Products from GIMA were used to design the façades and open spaces.

Great success for circular construction: For the first time, the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) has granted GIMA general construction approval for load-bearing clay block masonry using thin-bed mortar. At the same time, the GIMA clay block has received general building code approval in accordance with DIN 18945 under the number Z-17.6-1306. Learn more on our clay block landing page.

For the 16th time, the renowned architecture magazine AIT and AIT-Dialog presented the Architecture+ Construction Innovation Award in cooperation with Messe München GmbH on the occasion of BAU. We are delighted that our cooperation with HOFMANN NATURSTEIN convinced the jury and that the natural stone recycling clinker was awarded the Innovation Award 2025.

The new southern combined heat and power plant in Leipzig is a construction milestone on the road to the heating transition. Instead of a former coal-fired power plant, the site on Bornaische Strasse is home to a plant designed for a climate-neutral future. In future, the district heating network is to be supplied with hydrogen technology – and, following a planned expansion, also with solar thermal energy.
